![]() ![]() A way to incorporate the audio into the in-car video recording (the cameras or phones used all have built-in mics, wired connection is not always possible, etc.) Hardware battery life is an issue instructors in some clubs have a busy day and getting their com hardware charged mid-day is a challenge. Flexibility sufficient to establish useable communications between people using different hardware. But several of the tracks I frequent are in places with no Verizon connectivity.įeatures that would be nice to have? Full duplex. I have seen some race car communication apps that depend on cell network connections between two persons trying to communicate. If you're trying to design something phone-based, you might have trouble unless it was compatible with hardware differences. There are other kinds of headset/mic hardware out there in the community too. I don't know whether this is happening on the earpiece side or the mic side. Using a new headset with an old com box and old headset is one example - the new headset has volume that is way lower than the old headset, and the mismatch is so bad you can't use it. The headset/mic units have what I infer to be an impedance mismatch. There are "old" and "new" versions of the Chatterbox hardware out there. We've found ourselves at a bit of a crossroads on whether or not to continue the project so I guess my question is (not to hijack the thread or anything), would you guys even use something like this? Perhaps the low cost of it would afford people the ability to get a high-end headset? I know there are pretty limited options in the way of motorsport headsets. I do own a company that has been developing a mobile application with some of the functionalities that I asked about. I'm assuming you work for Chatterbox or some comm company?Interesting. It's probably easier to swallow a $100 set and get a new one every few years. I don't think many people would pay $250+ for a serious headset. I'm guessing it comes down to how much people are willing to pay. ![]() I use comms daily for work and they hold up to some serious abuse so I know the technology is there. My microphone gets static occasionally from crimped cords. ![]() As you've read in above posts, cords/connections get weak, which affects sound quality. ![]()
